VVWRA won 7 awards including Plant of the Year at the recent CWEA/DAMS awards banquet. DAMS is the Desert and Mountain Section of the California Water Environment Association. VVWRA captured Plant of the Year for the main plant in Victorville, Small Plant of the Year for the Apple Valley Subregional Water Recycling Facility and Tertiary Plant of the Year for the Hesperia Subregional Water Recycling Facility. Maintenance Supervisor Ray Lopez won Supervisor of the Year, Senior Operator Miguel Mendoza won Operator of the Year, E & I Technician-in-Training Jordan Rodriguez won Outstanding Young Professional of the Year and IT Technician-in-Training James Hunsaker won Administrative Technical Person of the Year. The local winners will now have their applications submitted to CWEA for the state competition.
