VVWRA Senior Operator Miguel Mendoza has been named the California Water Environment Association’s (CWEA) Operator of the Year. This is a statewaide award that recognizes Miguel's undeniable contributions. Miguel’s recognition as Operator of the Year is a testament to his technical mastery, and his “cool under pressure” approach to complex systems makes him a cornerstone of our success. This prestigious award recognizes the “best of the best” in our industry. 
“Miguel’s ability to troubleshoot the most complex systems while consistently mentoring our junior operators is what truly sets him apart. He doesn’t just keep the wastewater moving;  he raises the standard for everyone around him”, said VVWRA General Manager Darron Poulsen.

Miguel is a Grade V operator which is the highest certification the state of California offers.
