Pathfinder Day at the Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority (VVWRA)—organized in partnership with Tomorrow's Talent—gives High Desert high school students a hands-on, behind-the-scenes look at essential careers in wastewater, environmental protection, and public utilities. Rather than standard classroom lectures, the micro-internship format provides direct exposure to the facility's operations and technical departments. We were recently visited by students from Excelsior Charter School who saw up-close and personal what our staff does in operations, mechanical maintenance, environmental compliance and accounting. The program is designed to show students alternative careers that they may not thought of pursuing.
